STRATEGY AND BRANDING CONSULTING-WHAT IT IS AND HOW IT WORKS
A strategy and branding consultant helps you see things from a different perspective as well as see things of which you may not have been aware. The day-to-day running of an organization can sometimes get in the way of seeing the proverbial forest from the trees. In addition, it is always a good idea to get a fresh perspective from an outsider. The strategy consultant then goes on to provide innovative solutions to address any issues you may be facing and/or to identify and achieve your short and/or long term goals.
What I do as a strategy consultant and how it works falls into four categories and stages:
First: I help you determine your actual needs. Let me explain. I listen very carefully to your own analysis, thoughts, concerns, desires, and perceived needs. I then learn everything I can about your organization and closely analyze every relevant aspect of it utilizing my proprietary technique derived from All-Source Intelligence Analysis. Then I compare my findings with everything you shared with me and develop my own conclusions. Sometimes my findings are the same as the client’s, sometimes they are different, but usually they are a mix of some same and some different.
Second: I share my findings along with my explanations. You could say that this is where my consulting actually begins. It is imperative that we address what actually needs to be addressed in order to achieve your stated short and/or long term goals. In fact, this step may even involve reevaluating your goals based upon my findings. Don’t let this frighten you as it is a somewhat common occurrence and not as challenging when you have an expert consultant to guide you. In fact a key component of strategy consulting is helping you with understanding and developing your vision. Once we confirm your goals and identify the necessary measures needed to achieve them we move on to the next category and stage.
Third: I develop a detailed plan utilizing my proprietary All-Source Strategy and Tactics Solution Protocol (ASSTSP)SM. During this process I keep in mind older yet proven solutions, current industry best practices, and emerging innovation, along with my own unique insights based upon my considered experience and expertise. Sometimes we just need to properly reapply an established wheel, sometimes we need to reinvent it, but usually it is a combination of the two.
Fourth: I then carefully and thoroughly explain every aspect and every detail of the Solution to you and/or your people, taking the time to answer every question and confirm full retention and understanding.
The Master Educator Benefit: Throughout the entire process I utilize my experience and skill as a master educator by keeping essential pedagogical principles in mind. In other words, I view the process of helping you discern your vision and then developing the conclusions as akin to developing a teaching curriculum. I then view the development of the solution and explaining it through the lens of crafting an educational lesson plan. This helps to ensure that I not only avoid over complication, but that it is also a practical solution that can be more easily mastered by you and/or your people. My experience as an educator uniquely positions me to design and execute effective training materials and develop a means of ensuring and assessing mastery of the solutions prepared for you. This added element is unique to WJPL Consulting in that I am the only consultant known to actively utilize this knowledge and the accompanying skill sets as a part of my consulting.

Throughout my life I have actively pursued assorted positions across a variety of industries with the intent of learning and understanding how different industries and professions function. This real world hands on experience has proven to be an invaluable asset.
My education includes a B.A. in History and Social Studies with an emphasis in Political Science, and an M.Ed in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Research. I am a master rated educator and possess three Secondary Education Teaching Certificates; having taught High School History and Social Studies, and Mathematics. I have also been a University Professor where I taught education majors how to teach.
I am a Congressionally Commissioned U.S. Army Officer. I was a Military Intelligence Officer, Investigator, Trainer, Weapons of Mass Destruction Instructor, and a Combat Life Saver. In the world of business I have run my own successful businesses as well as having helped others with their businesses. My writing includes academic, political, business, and human interest articles and columns. I am an award winning public speaker and debater; considered a polymath; and an expert in operations, policies and procedures, and standard operating procedures.
